# What does a website maintenance package include?

Compare updates, security, backups, monitoring and repairs separately. These are important questions for a proposal, not five tasks every package must include. Tiers may differ in the type of work, not just hours.

## How are updates, security and backups defined?

WP Buffs lists weekly WordPress updates across its plans. GoWP describes one manual update monthly in Free and automatic updates with visual checks from Pro. These are provider offers, not evidence of what every market package contains.

Ask what gets updated, how compatibility is checked and what happens on failure. A visual check does not establish that every function works. For backups, define frequency, location, retention and restoration; malware scanning does not guarantee the absence of every problem.

## How is availability monitored?

WP Buffs states hundreds of checks daily. GoWP includes uptime and certificate monitoring from Free. Those words alone do not define every monitored address, interval, failure confirmation or response time.

Record success criteria and alert recipients. A reachable address does not establish a completed order or delivered email. We check the website hourly and automations on every run. An ordinary WordPress package does not monitor your external processes.

## What do hours and edits mean?

WP Buffs includes unlimited edits from Protect within defined boundaries: handling supplied content does not mean writing it or custom development. GoWP Business includes five human edits monthly, described as tasks of about thirty minutes or less. These are not five hours.

Check whether the allowance counts hours, requests or edits, what qualifies as a small task and how extra cost is approved. Do not read “unlimited” as unlimited development. A higher tier may add different checks or functional support, not just a larger allowance.

## What does reporting show, and what stays outside?

WP Buffs lists weekly reports; GoWP lists weekly or monthly reporting from Pro. Ask what they contain: checks made, failures, fixes and outstanding issues. Report frequency is not the frequency of every check.

Define hosting, cleanup of an already infected site, writing, SEO campaigns and development separately. In our service, routine version updates and backups, new features and redesign are separate work with a proposal. A monthly report and agreed inventory do not automatically add another provider’s included services.

## Questions

### Do unused hours carry over?

Check expiry, carry-over, limits and exceptions explicitly. An hours policy does not necessarily define an edit-count policy. Do not treat silence in a short description as a right to carry an allowance forward.

### Is the cheapest package enough for a small site?

Page count alone does not decide. Check platform, forms, payments, data and required response. A small page with an important transaction may need a test absent from the entry tier.

### Are automations included with the website?

Only within the agreed scope. Ask which workflows, runs and alerts are included. Our inventory records the site and automations we can monitor; another provider’s plan does not establish that for us.

### Does a shop have different conditions?

It may. WP Buffs directs WooCommerce and other advanced functionality to Perform. Check the actual plan and whether payment and shipping are tested, rather than only general reachability or plugin management.

## Compare the defined work, not just the package name.

Our Monitoring and Care begins with an inventory of what you run. The proposal defines checks and scope; any included hours or edits need recording explicitly. A monthly service does not, by its name alone, promise a standard bank of hours.
