Monitoring and Care

How much does website maintenance cost per month?

Compare the work covered by the monthly fee before comparing the total. Included hours, VAT, website type and the charge for extra work can change what an apparently similar package buys. The two providers below are published examples, not a Bulgarian market average or an ErgoStrat price list.

What do the published packages include?

GetSEO lists monthly prices of €75 for up to 3 technical hours, €103 for up to 6 and €146 for up to 9, excluding VAT. EasyWeb lists €49 for up to 2 hours, €79 for up to 4 and €99 for up to 6, including VAT.

These figures sit on different tax bases and include different amounts of work. Do not subtract one displayed price from the other and treat the result as a like-for-like saving. Ask for the total payable on your quotation, with the VAT treatment shown, before making a decision.

Use the named packages as questions for a quotation, rather than assuming their terms apply to every provider. Confirm the current price, eligibility and written scope directly. A published package is not a commitment to take over your particular website without an initial review.

What changes the cost of maintaining your site?

Start with the parts that need attention: the website platform, forms, payment or booking connections, connected services and the people who make changes. An online shop needs its order and payment journeys considered as well as its public pages. A brochure site can still have a business-critical enquiry form.

The EasyWeb Shop Care package adds WooCommerce and checks of checkout, delivery and payment methods. That illustrates why site type can affect the included work; it does not establish a universal premium for every shop or an identical scope at other providers.

Separate ongoing checks from the work done when a problem is found. Ask whether the fee covers investigation, repairs, small content changes, software updates and restoring a backup. Also ask who pays for hosting, domains and paid software. “Maintenance included” does not settle those items individually.

What counts towards the included hours?

Ask for a task list and an explanation of time accounting. Does an investigation count even if the cause is an external provider? Are meetings, content changes and testing charged against the same allowance? Can unused hours carry over, or do they expire? Put the answers in the agreement rather than inferring them from the package name.

GetSEO publishes additional technical-hour rates of €80, €70 and €60 excluding VAT for its respective plans. These are that provider’s extra-work rates, not ErgoStrat’s charges. Ask your prospective provider for its own rate and approval process before an allowance runs out.

Write down how extra work is authorised. An allowance tells you how much time is included; it does not automatically cap the bill. Ask whether you receive an estimate before additional work starts, and what happens to an urgent fault when approval is still pending.

For ErgoStrat, Monitoring and Care begins with an inventory and a fixed monthly price for that scope. Version updates and backups are not routine included work; they receive a separate proposal. The packages above belong to other providers; what our service includes is set out in the proposal.

Questions

How should I compare prices with and without VAT?

Ask both providers to show the same tax basis and the amount you would actually pay. Keep that basis beside each figure. A displayed amount without VAT and an amount including it are not directly comparable totals; the quotation should state the applicable treatment.

Does a shop always need the most expensive package?

Choose from the actual journeys and integrations that need care. Ask whether orders, payment, delivery and any custom code are covered, and what the limits are. A tier called “shop” does not by itself show that it covers every shop configuration.

Is the cheapest package enough for a small business?

Check the scope, hours, response arrangements and extra-work approval against your needs. A small website can rely on a form or booking connection that matters to daily work. A low fee is useful only if the agreement covers what you need maintained.

Are these figures representative of the whole market?

No. They are examples from two named providers with different VAT and hour allowances. They do not establish a market average, a complete supplier comparison or a current offer from ErgoStrat. Request a written quotation for your own scope.
